Disclaimer: This post is not based on current events in my guild or with people I currently play with.
So you’re into this new guild and everything is new and shiny. It could be a friends guild, a raiding guild or any other kind of guild you know. For the most part, everything is fine but then comes along The One. The One is that guildie you just want to kill over and over again and everyday you look over the guild logs hoping to see him or her gone.
It could be someone relative who has no clue about raiding getting in a raiding guild, a super hardcore player trying to change a casual guild , someone who loves crude humour in a family guild or just about anyone who don’t exactly fit with the guild theme. You happen to love your guild and its culture but these people seem intent to go against the grain and change things around them to fit them. To make things worst, these people just never go away, always shy of a gkick but not quite getting there. In bad cases they can actually break your guild over time.
Over time, I’ve been doing my best to try to learn to live with these people. I try to ignore them, or give them funny names like EmoTank to make it easier on the harder nights. Not always easy…
I know some of you will say that the leadership needs to man up and deal with these people but things are never this easy. It could be only me hating the guy, or maybe being annoying is not ground for dismissal in a particular guild. After all, if the guy can put out 30k dps… why would we ever want to get rid of him?
I’m a bit curious today about how you deal with the annoying ones. I’ve been mostly trying to ignore them but I’m curious to see if you may have better ideas.
