Monday update: Swtor bugs and Secret world issue one

July 16, 2012 by lonomonkey

I nearly rage quitted Swtor friday night. I was only a few clicks away from unsubbing and deleting the game from my PC in a moment of sheer rage. Luckily, I remembered my “wait 24hrs” rule about unsubbing from MMOs and I remembered I still enjoy the nice people in Snark Side but yeah, I came close to rage quitting.

What happened? We encountered the dreaded “instance switch” bug in Explosive conflict where the game switch your raid group instance and causes all the trash to respawn. They claimed to have fixed it but I am living proof they did not. See, we already had a though night and having 45 minutes worth of trash respawn on us was the last straw. We had a vote, called the raid over and logged off pissed like I’ve rarely been. I already have a low tolerance for bugs as I’ve said numerous times on this blog but Swtor in particular keeps driving me nuts in new and interesting ways.

Bioware, fix your game because someday I’ll forget to wait 24hrs and I’ll just quit.

In more positive news Funcom announced Issue one  , which is really the first update to the game. Some new quests, hard mode for some dungeons and the auction house. It’s not a super huge update but after only one month in the game it’s nice that they are talking about new content and not struggling to fix bugs like a certain other game. I’m actually looking forward to the quests with Carter, I am really intrigued by her character and to know we get to learn more about her is really exciting.

Also, I love the comic book art for the update.

Nice bug. I notice that they have said that they fixed the camera bug when getting out of taxis (zooming all the way out when you disembark) … but they haven’t done that either. Still happening to me all the time. I think they need patch notes for their patch notes.

Annnnnd then we went back the next day and only the first pack was back. It’s like, who could even have IMAGINED these bugs, let alone somehow made them happen in practice? /shakes head
