The Secret World continues to be good blogging material and it’s definitively one game I’ll keep playing for a while along swtor. In my last post I bemoaned my troubles finding a group to complete Hell raised (Inferno), the second instance in Tsw. But luck finally smiled on me and I got a great group that cleared the whole of the place and that was fun to play with.

Now that I’ve completed the first two dungeons TSW has to offer I can say with confidence I like a lot the approach Funcom took with the dungeon design. They are short, with 1 to 3 trash pulls between bosses and this trash is designed to teach you about the coming bosses. According to the devs, Tsw dungeons are designed around the idea of giving players a quick, but memorable run.
And I have to say they succeeded admirably. The whole instance took less than an hour and that was with two wipes and us learning the bosses. Not only that but the whole time I was there I was literally gawking at the scenery. I suppose with time the “new and shiny” factor will wear out but so far I’m not disappointed.
As for the instance itself I don’t want to give too much spoilers but suffice to say that Machine Tyrant is one of the most memorable bosses I’ve had the pleasure to fight in a very long time.
