I don’t know exactly what happened to me but here I am, leveling a paladin at the speed of light. What started out as a joke between me and Zelmaru about joining Team Heal to destroy it from the inside is turning into a fun experiment about fast I can level a character to 85.
So far after about 12 hours I’m level 43. Not too bad I think.
I don’t know if it’s because I’m leveling as a ret pally, or the new experience or a combination of both but everything has been a blur. In fact, it’s been only since hitting the eastern plaguelands (lvl 40) that I started noticing a slowing down in the levels. To be fair, I know all the zones and quests by heart and I’m doing my best to be speedy but still, I was expecting things to take a bit more time. It does speak volumes about the revamped WoW.
The long-term plan is still a bit hazy but I’m thinking of trying to actually gear the pally for raiding to see what healing is like nowadays. The last time I raid healed was in the beginning of BC in Kara with a priest. And that didn’t last long because soon enough I was asked to go shadow to become a living mana battery.
So, I don’t know if I’ll finish leveling this character or if I’ll remain motivated to gear a new character for raiding once I start hitting the heroics but so far, it’s proving to be a fun diversion.
I’m not sure about Paladins, but I leveled a dwarf mage from 1-85 in about a day’s worth of /played a couple months back, full heirlooms and all that jazz. I fed him cloth from other characters to keep tailoring going so he’d have access to solid crafted gear once he hit Northrend and Cata zones, which was pretty helpful.
I’ll hit the heroics with my Prot Pally in Eff.
